Does the Pollock-Krasner Foundation authenticate or attribute works by Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner?

No, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation does not authenticate or attribute works of art.

I am doing research on Jackson Pollock and/or Lee Krasner. Does the Foundation have a library I can use or scholars I can consult?

The Foundation does not have research facilities. The Internet is a valuable resource for information about Pollock and/or Krasner. You might also want to contact the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, 830 Fireplace Road, East Hampton, NY 11937 (631) 324-4929 or The Archives of American Art.

Where can the public see and/or purchase artworks by Pollock or Krasner?

The Foundation does not have a gallery exhibition space. The Washburn Gallery and the Paul Kasmin Gallery exhibit and represent the Foundation for the sale of its remaining Pollock and Krasner inventory respectively.

What other sources of funding or residency programs are there for artists?

The New York Foundation for the Arts has developed a current, comprehensive residency and funding guide for artists working in all media. Please visit NYFA Source, A Directory for Artists.

How can I obtain a copy of the Jackson Pollock Catalogue Raisonné or the Supplement?

The Catalogue Raisonné is currently out of print, but the Supplement may be purchased at Ursus Books.

Can I pick up an application at the Foundation’s offices?

Does the Pollock-Krasner Foundation give grants to artists outside New York City?

The Foundation funds individual artists internationally.

I am looking for funding for graduate school. Is this within the Foundation’s guidelines?

The Foundation does not make grants to students or fund academic study.

Is the Foundation primarily interested in funding abstract expressionism?

The Foundation has no restriction regarding style, school, technique or subject matter as long as the work falls within the categories of painting, sculpture, installation and works on paper.

Does the Foundation fund video artists?

The Foundation currently does not make grants to video artists. The Foundation does, however, support artists who include video within their painting, sculpture, installation or printmaking.

Can I apply for a photography grant?

Photography grants are by nomination only. An artist cannot apply for this award, unlike our regular grant program, which is by open application. However, the Foundation will continue to support artists in our regular grant program who include photography within their painting, sculpture, installation or printmaking.

Can I apply for a Lee Krasner Award?

Lee Krasner Awards are by nomination only, and are awarded to older artists in recognition of a lifetime of artistic achievement providing they meet our dual-grant criteria. An artist cannot apply for this award, unlike our regular grant program, which is by open application.

Is there an application deadline? How long is the grant process?

The application process is ongoing, and there are no deadlines. The selection process can take between 9 months to a year.
